Foraged and made in Dartmoor by Princetown Press.
Rooted in the landscape of Dartmoor, this iron water ink is made using horseshoes found along its winding bridleways. Gathered during the early years of living on the moor, these lucky finds now form the basis of a distinctive, handcrafted ink.
Each batch is unique, producing a rich spectrum of colour that ranges from bright orange through to deep, earthy browns. To use it is to paint quite literally with rust, an elemental process that celebrates time, weather and place.
As well as standing beautifully on its own, the iron water works as a subtle modifier, shifting other inks into soft greys and muted tones. A few drops are enough to transform colour, inviting experimentation and quiet discovery with every use.
- Size: one 15mL vial of ink
- Use with: Small paint brushes; you can also use a dip pen
- Not suitable for fountain pens.
- The ink should not be left exposed to direct sunshine.
